I love mismatching my socks, but being compelled to mismatch them seems to me nothing more than an inversions of the earlier mandate to assure that they match.
I guess you could say I'd rather wear 2 really good matched socks than wear a poorly mismatched set that fails to capture the full aesthetic potential of mismatch. -

Sun, December 12, 2004 - 8:55 PMMy mismatching comes primarily from laziness (I don't fold or hang my clothes up either, so why would I pair socks?) but also due to an inability to keep socks. And why throw out one perfectly good sock just because its store-partner is MIA? (okay, I guss not IA, because I have never lost a sock I was wearing).
Hey, right now I too am wearing only one sock! It's yellow, not a favorite. Actually I was wearing matching yesterday, after a trip home (grandma died) and my mom did my laundry. I agree with Josh, that making sure they're mismatched is just as neurotic as making sure they match. -
