Re: I'm taking it up a level
Sun, December 26, 2004 - 7:46 PMLadies and gentlemen, I see that the gauntlet has been thrown down.
Once I wore one Chaco and one Doc Marten because it was the first warm, springlike day of the year but I couldn't locate one Chaco sandal. I didn't like the unevenness of sole.
So, I must pass, but I commend your taking mismatching to new heights.
Go eric! -

Re: I'm taking it up a level
Mon, December 27, 2004 - 5:36 PMThis is all a bit too silly.
I've worn odd socks for decades because they're basically all the same and there's no reason other than convention for wearing matching colors/patterns on each foot. It's a way I remind myself to be an individual and not to fit in with convention (in other ways besides just wearing odd socks).
Now, if you had similar shoes in different colors, then maybe wearing odd shoes would be reasonable. However, I don't think anyone here wears odd socks to deliberately make themselves uncomfortable - at least to the extent of wearing one flat open sandal and one closed high heel or something. That would be like wearing your underwear backwards. -

Re: I'm taking it up a level
Mon, December 27, 2004 - 11:10 PMI wear mismatched rain boots and mismatched converse, because they're essentially the same shoe (I really hate walking with different leg-lengths due to sole thickness) but look friggin' cool. -

Re: I'm taking it up a level
Tue, December 28, 2004 - 12:28 PMha.
one purple boot plus one pink boot.
or
one green/black/black and white converse plus one green/black/black and white converse.
my friend breeze wears a purple sock with a green converse and on the other foot a green sock with a purple converse. sometimes he throws some orange in there to mix it up. -

Re: I'm taking it up a level
Thu, January 13, 2005 - 4:04 AMwhen I was really little they called me "Katie Two Shoes" because I always wore two diferent shoes. Mostly because I kept losing shoes and could not find matching ones to wear in time before I had to leave the house.

Re: I'm taking it up a level
Sat, January 22, 2005 - 6:34 PMI did that in sith grade, a blue capiezeo high top with a pink capezio low top. I did it every friday, people used to say I stole it from punky brewster, but chucks vs capezios? no contest. mismatching chucks is easy, mismatching a failed line of tennis shoes from a dance shoe company, now that's art.
